Terms of Service

Effective July 8, 2026. By using Talk the Town you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Talk the Town is an interactive language-learning game, currently in beta. It is provided free of charge and “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Features may change, break, or be removed, and progress may occasionally be lost — please export a backup of anything important (Settings → Saved progress).

Eligibility

You must be old enough to consent to this service where you live. The chat and voice-chat features connect you with strangers and are intended for people 16 and older. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, get a parent or guardian's permission first. See our Privacy page for details on data and minors.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and used to sync your progress. You're responsible for the email you use and for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account.

Acceptable use & conduct

When you play alongside others — especially in text and voice chat — you agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short: be respectful; no harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or contact with minors; don't share others' personal information; don't spam, cheat, or try to disrupt the service or other players. We may mute, block, remove content, or suspend or terminate access — with or without notice — for conduct that violates these terms or the guidelines.

Your content

You're responsible for what you say and share in chat and voice. You retain your rights to it, and you grant us the limited permission needed to transmit it to other players and to review reports for moderation. Don't post content you don't have the right to share.

Intellectual property

The game, its content, and its branding are owned by Talk the Town or its licensors. Some 3D assets are used under open (CC0) or purchased licenses. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the game or its assets except as those licenses allow.

Third-party services

Talk the Town relies on third parties (Vercel, Supabase, Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, ElevenLabs) as described in Privacy. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Talk the Town is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost data or progress, or for the conduct of other players. The service is provided without warranty of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
